How this list is judged
Eight verifiable criteria: shift handling, leave integration, device support, localisation, export, pricing clarity, effort and support.
We build one of the products listed, so treat the criteria as more trustworthy than the ordering. Vendor lists are usually decided by who paid to be included. This one is decided by verifiable behaviour on the things that decide whether attendance software is still running a year later.

Standalone attendance, spreadsheet export, or an integrated HR platform. The right choice depends on your existing setup.
Overnight shift handling, configurable leave, model support, manager scoping and localisation. Everything else is largely the same.
If attendance is all you need, if you are a large enterprise expecting a full ERP, or if your workforce is fully mobile.
Same six questions, every vendor, using your own shift times, weekend and device model.
Write down your real shift timings, weekend and leave policy, then run the test. Faster than any feature comparison.
This is an honest comparison, including the places where another product is the better choice. We build one of the products listed, so treat the criteria as more trustworthy than the ordering. The criteria below are the ones that actually determine whether attendance software survives its first payroll, and they are all verifiable in a demo.

Vendor lists are usually decided by who paid to be included. This one is decided by verifiable behaviour, tested on the criteria that determine whether a system is still in use a year later.
| Criterion | Why it decides the outcome | How to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Shift-aware calculation | Night and rotating shifts are wrong otherwise | Give them your real shift times and check the output |
| Leave integration | Approved leave reported as absence otherwise | Ask for a leave-deducted attendance example |
| Device support | An unusable device integration is worthless | Give them your device model and ask them to confirm |
| Localisation | Hardcoded holidays and weekends miscalculate every month | Ask where religious holidays are configured |
| Data export | Determines your exit options | Ask for an export sample before buying |
| Pricing clarity | A cheap quote is often a small first year | Ask for a first-year total in PKR |
| Implementation effort | The real cost of any rollout | Ask what your team must do, and for how long |
If attendance is the only requirement, a standalone product is genuinely adequate and cheaper. The case for an integrated platform is not that attendance is better there, it is that attendance becomes trustworthy to payroll without a monthly reconciliation step.
| Category | Typical option | Best for | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standalone attendance | ZKTeco's own software, or a device bundle | Small sites needing attendance and nothing else | Does not reach your HR or payroll data |
| Spreadsheet and export workflow | ZKTeco export, analysed manually | A handful of staff, temporary | Manual every month; breaks on night shifts |
| Integrated HR platform | Flowwkkr and comparable products | Anyone whose attendance must be paid from | Requires employee records to exist and be mapped |
Across the products we have compared, the differences that matter in practice are much narrower than the marketing suggests, and cluster in a few places.
| Area | Common to most products | Where they differ |
|---|---|---|
| Daily attendance calculation | Standard | Overnight and rotating shift handling |
| Late arrival and overtime | Standard | Whether overtime is approved or merely calculated |
| Leave integration | Common | Whether leave is configurable per type and year |
| Biometric device support | ZKTeco common | Which model families, and whether LAN-only devices are supported |
| Role-based access | Common | Whether managers are properly scoped to their own team |
| Reporting | Standard registers | Whether reports are exportable rather than only on screen |
| Localisation | Varies widely | Religious holidays and a configurable working week |
Stating the boundaries is more useful than a claim to be best, so here is the honest version.
Before any demo, write down your real shift timings, your actual weekend, and your religious leave policy. Then run the same six questions against every vendor you shortlist. Products that pass all six are genuinely comparable, and the ones that fail have told you something without you having to research it.
One thing that does not change by city: the first-year total in PKR. Any vendor you approach should be able to give you that number, including devices, sync agents and any modules, on a single line.
| City | What usually fits | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Karachi | Integrated platform, or an existing device if attendance is genuinely all you need | Largest pool of ZKTeco installations and the deepest local servicing network, so a standalone setup is often genuinely sufficient |
| Lahore | Integrated platform for manufacturing, textile and BPO operations | Rotating A/B/C shifts and overnight rosters break standalone tools and spreadsheet workflows every single month |
| Islamabad / Rawalpindi | Either, depending on whether payroll consumes the attendance data | Fixed office calendars and a five-day week are easier to run manually than a shift-based factory |
| Any city | Standalone if attendance is never paid from | If nobody reconciles attendance into payroll, a device package plus an export is cheaper and adequate |
It depends on your setup rather than the product. If you already own a ZKTeco LAN device and need attendance to be payroll-ready, an integrated platform is worth the difference. If attendance is genuinely all you need, a standalone device package is adequate and cheaper. The six questions in this page narrow the field faster than any feature list.
Standalone if attendance is the only requirement and you want the lowest cost. A full platform if you also manage employees and leave, if you run night or rotating shifts, or if you currently spend time reconciling spreadsheets at month end. The deciding question is whether attendance feeds payroll automatically or a person retypes it.
For a team of roughly 20 where only attendance matters, an existing ZKTeco device with its own software is the cheapest genuine option and often requires no new purchase at all. Integrated platforms start meaningfully higher but remove the monthly reconciliation. Ask for a first-year total rather than a licence price.
Run the same six verifiable tests against each one using your own shift timings, weekend and device model: an overnight shift calculation, leave deduction, device confirmation, configurable working week, data export, and a first-year PKR total. Vendors that pass all six are genuinely comparable; the rest have revealed a limitation.
Usually, if the current process is manual export into a spreadsheet, because the change is in the software layer rather than the hardware. You keep the terminal, enrolments and User IDs. The real work is preparing employee records and bulk mapping IDs, which is a data task rather than a hardware one.
